Reissued on vinyl, here's a splendid 1970 album by the band formed around gifted session musician and arranger Johnny Almond, who played sax in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and worked with Zoot Money, Fleetwood Mac and Martha Velez before arranging the horns on the Rolling Stones' 'Honkey Tonk Woman'. 'Hollywood Blues' is a very diverse and intense offering with styles ranging from hard bop to blues to soul and funk.
