Birth evolved from Astra, which delivered two albums for Rise Above Records - 'The Weirding' in 2009 and 'The Black Chord' in 2012 - and the band also features (ex)members of Sacri Monte, Psicomagia, Joy and Monarch. Musically, whilst traces can be discerned of King Crimson of 'Red' herein, as well as early Yes and Van Der Graaf Generator, a whole host of influences made their presence felt like Aphrodites Child, Premiata Formeria Marconi and Area to Robbie Basho and the symphonic soundtrack work of Osanna.
