As on his previous albums, Mikal arranged and played nearly all of the instruments himself, including the tzouras, a traditional Greek string instrument. The songs also feature French horn, saxophone and trumpet. There are mood-altering crescendos, heartbreaking turns-of-phrase, and guitars, both gorgeous and pugnacious.
