Eat Lights Become Lights/twelve
Split 12"
An ace 12" on tasty clear wax on the Great Pop Supplement sublabel Deep Distance featuring 3 epic kraut flavoured
electronic pieces from London's Eat Lights Become Lights backed with Nottingham's Chris Olley, previously of Six by
Seven whose new "Twelve" project debuts on wax here. Preceding the fabulous new full length due early July 2013, Eat
Lights offer up something of a curve ball here- a real departure to their trademark incessant building motorik groove.
"Habitat 67" instead features a more organic, wonderfully slow building, evolving electronic piece- drop dead gorgeous
with peaks bordering on the euphoric in places. 9 epic minutes perfectly at home on 12" vinyl here. Not only veering
substantially from the acclaimed Neu! like groove familiar to longterm fans but acting perfectly as an appetite wetter
to the great, imminent "Modular Living" LP. The flip as mentioned earlier features a debut outing for Chris Olley, whose
new "Twelve" project has gone down great at recent Klub Motorik shows and his tracks here supplement ELBL's A side
perfectly. 2 pulsing, evolving electronic pieces in a driving, kraut vein and again, just killer stuff, rounding up an
amazing record. Dressed up in tasty new Deep Distance company bags, this one is an absolute must and like everything
else on the label it is expected to sell out quickly, to be followed pretty rapidly by a new Expo '70 LP.
