Hailing from the Faroe Islands, singer and composer Eivor Palsdottir released her album 'Bridges' in 2015. Here available on CD, 'Bridges' is in many ways a classic singer-songwriter album, firmly rooted in the pop music of the 1960s. But Eivor tweaks her expression by letting her acoustic guitar counter play against programmed beats, which she has typically sampled from her old shaman drum. In other places, the melodies are carried forward by tasteful string instruments. Tradition and experiment are brought together in a very exciting way.
