Suffused with an atmosphere of slow-simmering tension, this debut-album by the Bay Area-based solo-musician ((the ex-frontman of noise-pop combo Pure Bliss)) traffics in understated grooves reminiscent of latter-era Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, with Frank Ene's rich voice somehow sounding at once wispy and full-bodied.
