The Fiend formed near the end of 1982 and hailed from the Lukes Lane Estate Heburn. They were one of the first bands in the northeast to adopt overtly hardcore influences. Support slots with the likes of One Way System, Riot Squad, Conflict and Onslaught did no harm. After a 20 year hiatus, The Fiend are back with a brand new line up and a sound that will chew you up and spit you out. After numerous low key, and much sought after early releases, they now have their first album proper released entitled 'The Brutal Truth.' Rat, the singer of Discharge and The Varukers has signed them to his label, Vile Records, and when someone as influential as him takes notice, you can bet it won't be long before The Fiend are up there with the best of them.
