GravelRoad's mixture of driving rhythms and heavy guitar sounds ranges from minute long fits of angst to sprawling psychedelic outings. The band is steeped in traditional Mississippi hill country blues and rock'n'roll, but doesn't shy away from integrating new elements of sound and song construction. On 'Capitol Hill Country Blues' the group pushes its boundaries on a.o. the krautrock inspired instrumental 'Green Lungs' and the stunningly beautiful acoustic track 'I Feel High'. However, most cuts -in the core- offer the fuzzed out heavy blues for which GravelRoad is known. The album was recorded and mixed by the legendary Jack Endino.
