Head West was a short-lived trio which presented a blend of soul, funk and psychedelic rock, a musical fusion in which Sly and the Family Stone dominated in the late '60s. Henry Moore's heavy breakbeats and solid grooves on the album led to renewed interest decades later, as artists like Gorillaz, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Primal Scream, UNKLE, Kid Koala and Aesop Rock to name a few, sampled drum parts from the album. Recorded in France in 1970 for Vogue records, this album sees a well-deserved reissue on limited white vinyl.
