Featuring vibraphone, flute, piano, bass, and drums, L'Orchestre Sympathique offered a percussive, melodic brand of jazz-rock fusion with comparisons to Weather Report and Pierre Moerlen-era Gong. Their releases were all live and self-funded, using ticket sales from the concerts to fund the recording and release of the performances. Originally produced in a quantity of 300 back in 1978, this is the first CD reissue of the band's material. The band toured Europe extensively in the 1980s and reunited to play the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2004.
