The collaboration began in 2015, when Krol and his bandmates Elliott Kozel, Phil Mahlstadt, and Michael Sienkowski decamped to San Francisco's Tiny Telephone after recording 'Turkey', intending to turn "a handful of riffs and ideas" into a full record.
