Born in 1924 and having passed away in 2004, Helena Meirelles was 68 years old when she started to record her debut-album. The style she played was a lesser known Brazilian folk genre called caipira. Guitar Player Magazine considers Helena Meirelles one the 100 greatest guitar players of all time.
