NY's Broke Revue band is really amazing! In England Dan Melchior has collaborated with Billy Childish and thee Headcoats, toured a lot with Holly Golightly and has appeared on more than 10 albums. He is one of the few people who can do the country-blues thing with emotional intensity and passion: just listen to his versions of Skip James, Fred McDowell, Robert Wilkins songs! The Broke Revue records (two are on In The Red) are some of the best stuff around! This Hate LP (with all unreleased stuff from their very early days) includes such a beautiful selections of American folk, country-blues, angry "rockin" blues-influenced songs and a couple of traditional melting instros!
