Taped in 1960, during the apex of Mingus' creativity, shortly after delivering the masterstroke 'Mingus Ah Um', just before his brilliant 'Oh Yeah', and in the same year as the classic 'Blues & Roots' album, the incredible session presented on this LP co-features such stars as Eric Dolphy, Roy Eldridge and Tommy Flanagan.
