Motorpsycho
Heavy Metal Fruit
6 songs. 62 minutes. 20 years. 15 studio albums (including this one). 2 live albums. 13 EPs (or something like that). 2
"Tussler" country-n-western albums. Some weird 7"s. An "In the Fishtank" release with Jaga Jazzist. Countless sampler
tracks. And God only knows how many concerts. Highs. Lows. Rock. Pop. Jazz. Noise. Metal. Beer. Bad food. Coffee.
Obscure cities. Dozens of guitars bought, possibly a few destroyed? (At least) one amplifier going up in flames. A tooth
knocked out on stage. Interviews. Thousands of hours in the practice room. Travelling. Singing. Playing. And how many
guitar strings broken? It's only been a few months since Motorpsycho released their 20th-anniversary special edition
vinyl-only album titled "Child of the Future". But celebrating your 20th birthday is reason enough for an extra boost of
energy and the recording of another album hot on the heels of the last one. Recorded over several months this past
summer and mastered just days before the begin of their Fall 2009 European Tour, "Heavy Metal Fruit" can be viewed as
the logical musical follow-up to "Child of the Future". More sweeping and with even more distinctive improvisations, but
also more relaxed and freer. In the music you'll find both heavy metal riffs, beautiful melodies and some of the best
vocal work that the band has recorded to date. Guest musicians include vocalist Hanne Hukkelberg
(www.myspace.com/hannehukkelberg) on 4 of the 6 songs, keyboarder Kare Christoffer Vestrheim (www.myspace.com/vestrheim)
and trumpet player Mathias Eick (http://www.myspace.com/mathiaseick). "This is the heaviest thing we've made in 15
years, so watch out! (It's also one of the furthest out there things we've done in a while, so...)" -Bent Saether.
