Presented on this CD is an impressive three-part suite, written by young Belgian saxophonist and composer Lennert Baerts for a 12-piece band. Influences come from just about anywhere and the music is full of serious grooves and intriguing harmonies. This is the first part of two related releases dedicated to the music of this fascinating and ambitious young jazz musician.
