'Startisha' by Naeem takes its cues from a number of genres. This is not surprising when you consider that the Baltimore-based musician has worked with the Avalanches, Bon Iver, Big Red Machine and Mouse on Mars. Despite these influences, he wanted to make an absolutely solo album. This did not come to pass, however, as his infectious enthusiasm pulled people in meaning Justin Vernon, Ryan Olson, Swamp Dogg, Velvet Negroni, Francis and the Lights, Amanda Blank and Micah James all contributed.
