'Building Machines' is a fun and furious blast of genre-busting spazz-punk derangement from Portland-based band Nasalrod. Featuring Fear drummer Spit Stix, the record is full of on-a-dime rhythm changes, angular riffs, unhinged yet soulful vocals, and shape shifting melodies that capture the frenetic intensity the band is known for. Fans of Fear, Nomeansno, Victims Family, Dead Kennedys, Frank Zappa, Jesus Lizard, Minutemen, The Blood Brothers, Living Colour and Mr. Bungle should give this a listen.
