In 1983, Nef released their album 'Mais Alors!!?... C'est à l'Envers'. At that point, the band already had a long history, interwoven with that of various musical trends and alternative movements from the late sixties to the early eighties. What certainly this record made special because it conciliated electronic prog, film score and new wave. Founded in 1975 by Richard Lorenzi, Nef started as some kind of improvisation band, influenced by prog to musique concrete. While the group had been influenced by electroacoustic techniques until then, the beginnings of electronic music brought in many new influences: Ash Ra Tempel, Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze. The album 'Mais Alors...' had been pressed in a limited run, and has been very sought after. Ici Bientot presents a welcome reissue.
