'Tides Of Failure' is the debut full length album from stoner metal fuelled power-trio Old Fashion Assassin. This is a band that thrives on the classic style of power-trio based music with elements of classic hard rock and heavy metal being used for great effect. The vocals remind of the more classic era of hard rock and heavy metal, perhaps even influenced by Bruce Dickinson in places. The music is quite direct and has a 'High Voltage' appeal and you can feel that from the excellent opening track 'Tides Of Failure.' There is also a love of Thin Lizzy held on this album with some epic guitar solos that has a familiar sound to it all. The psychedelic elements are also a nice touch and it shows you the direction the band takes on the album. (Steve Howe/Outlaws Of The Sun)
