This interesting CD from the free improvisational unit OPEN SPACE QUARTET (showcasing an approach based on Harrison Owen's 'Open Space method') presents a unique interpretation of a suite by Claude Bolling. The suite, in eight movements and with a total duration of about 60 minutes, is typical for the style of this composer; these are fast, rhythmic pieces that alternate with calm and melodic parts.
