Perkalaba, going strong since 1998, is the Ukrainian answer to (former Soviet) artists/bands s.a. Goran Bregovic, Non Smoking Orchestra and Gogol Bordello. Perkabla's style is rooted in the local musical traditions and called Gutzul Roots. However, on this album, which sounds remarkably mature and more polished than previous recordings, the songs have a more 'European' sound. Gogol Bordello's leader Eugene Hütz contributed vocals to one of the tracks.
