Skyforest is an atmospheric black metal solo project from Russia that rose from the ashes of Annorkoth. After the first album 'Aftermath', which featured Tim Yatras (Austere, Germ) on vocals and drums and was still primarily a depressive black metal album, the style developed more into an atmospheric, uplifting kind of metal that gets the "black" mostly from the occasional genre-typical vocals. The following album 'Unity' as well as the EP 'Harmony', both in this new style, were very well received by fans and set the stage for 'A New Dawn', perhaps the best and most captivating Skyforest album to date. It was written in the first half of 2019. Lyrically, this album is about the journey into a new chapter of one's life. You never know what awaits you on a new day, but it's worth checking out. Too many questions are still left unanswered and yet it may lead to a positive change. The artist's personal growth into a life-affirming creator is reflected metaphorically in all of Skyforest's artworks after the debut, and culminates in the wonderful paintings of this album, again masterfully captured on canvas by Sergey Shenderovsky. The CD comes as collector's edition in digipack, limited to 1000 copies.
