The start of Thalamus dates back to February of 2006. The band sprung from and idea that Vocalist/Guitarist Kjell Bergendahl had, about making 70's style Riff Rock with a touch of Blues and Hard Rock. To keep the flame of Classic Rock burning, so to speak. He quickly brought guitarist Jan Cederlund to the band, who also brought drummer Sebastian Olsson to the constellation. After some time bass player Peter Johansson joined, and the band's first line-up was complete. Later on, a keyboard player named Hlightly, leaning even more towards 70's Rock. Sadly both Jan and Hakan left Thalamus in 2010 and were replaced with guitarist Mats Gesar and keyboard player Joakhim Aslund. In 2010 Thalamus also formed their own label SCOJ Music, and released a 5 track CD named Sign Here For Nothing. These tracks were left over from the sessions for the new album; Subterfuge.
