The Upland Band is the one man venture of Michael Beckett, known from a.o. Super Reverb and (formerly) Tuesday Weld. The songs on 'Living In Paradise' are wrapped in pastoral, mildly psychedelic guitar pop, often eshewing conventional structures, with a penchant for repetition and a liberal sprinkling of dub techniques. The laid-back athmosphere reminds of bands s.a. Wilco or Yo La Tengo.
