It was in the early 2000s that Finnish singer Laura Ryhanen and her accordionist Norbert Bremes along with fellow musicians played for the first time the "Finntango" in Tubingen. In 2006 Laura founded the band Uusikuu (new moon), which gave the Finntango new impulses. Uusikuu has been touring Europe for many years and they have inspired with their fresh interpretations of old Finnish dance music. The fourth Uusikuu album "Flamingo" is a tribute to international light music of the 1940s to the 1960s, with jazz, foxtrot, folk, tango, humppa and waltz which characterized dance nights back then.
