It won't be hard to imagine that throughout the '80s the GDR authorities weren't too keen on that new, rebellious youth subculture called punk rock. But it existed, though obviously very deep underground. Nevertheless, the Stasi (secret police) were never far away. If you can read German, the book is recommended.
