During the '60s and early '70s Piero Umiliani was above all the man of a thousand soundtracks and the first Italian jazz experiments. In 1972 he recorded this surprising tribute to the African continent, using the alias Zalla. The music is a colourful blend of African traditions, exotica, electronic music and so much more. 'Africa' now finally gets its awaited reissue.
