Here's a great release that combines an LP with a book. The latter features paintings, photos, lyrics, poems, drawings and other art inspired by murder ballads. Among the contributors are Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, James Johnston, Bart Chabot, Henk Schiffmacher, Meindert Talma and many more. The book is accompanied by a soundtrack with orginal murder ballads by The Bullfight. Joined by a number of guest musicians (including Birgit Schuurman and Mark Ritsema) this Dutch band creates a fatal pop noir soundtrack with jazzy double bass, dark violins, vintage organs and blood red lyrics.
