This is an exciting album recorded by British-born but Istanbul-based singer Nikolai Galen (a.k.a. Nick Hobbs) and Murat Ertel, the electric saz master from Turkey's Baba Zula. Drummer Gökçe Gürçay completes the trio. Though it's hard to think of an accurate tag for the music, one might describe 'Wild Flowers Of Anatolia' as 21st Century avant-psych folk-rock! Anyone who's into Baba Zula, Beefheart, Turkish bozlak singing or Julie Tippett's vocal improv should definitely be aware of this unique release.
